In a historic moment for Odisha, wrestler Satyanarayan clinched the state’s first-ever medal at the National Wrestling Championships. The 2024 event, held in Kota, Rajasthan, saw Satyanarayan winning a bronze medal in the Greco Roman category, marking a significant achievement for the state in the national wrestling arena.
The championships also saw remarkable performances in other categories. Himanshi (53kg) and Muskan (59kg) dominated the competition, both securing gold medals on the concluding day of the U20 Wrestling Nationals. Their victories were pivotal in Haryana’s triumph in the women’s team championship, showcasing the state’s stronghold in wrestling.
The final day of the championships featured fierce competitions across three men’s freestyle, three women’s freestyle, and four Greco Roman style categories, culminating in an exciting display of talent and determination.
