Omfed hikes milk price by Rs 4

Omfed Hikes Milk Prices by Rs 4 Per Litre in Odisha
The Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation has increased milk prices by Rs 4 per litre across various categories, citing rising processing and transportation costs.
Announcing the revision, Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Minister Gokulananda Mallik said the new prices have come into effect to address escalating operational expenses and ensure sustainability for dairy farmers and the cooperative sector.
As per the revised rates, toned milk will now cost Rs 54 per litre, up from Rs 50, while premium milk has been increased from Rs 54 to Rs 58 per litre. The price of gold premium milk has been raised from Rs 56 to Rs 60 per litre. Additionally, the gold premium plus variant will now be available at Rs 64 per litre, compared to the earlier price of Rs 60.
Officials stated that the price hike aims to balance the interests of both consumers and milk producers, particularly in light of increased input costs in procurement, processing, and distribution.
The move is expected to have a direct impact on household budgets, as milk remains a staple commodity across the state.
