President Droupadi Murmu Completes Three Years in Office, Launches Inclusive and Digital Initiatives at Rashtrapati Bhavan

President Droupadi Murmu marked the completion of her third year in office on Friday with the launch of several key initiatives aimed at promoting inclusivity, digital accessibility, and environmental sustainability at Rashtrapati Bhavan and its affiliated estates.

In a significant step toward making Rashtrapati Bhavan more inclusive, the President’s Estate was officially declared Divyangjan-friendly. Rashtrapati Bhavan, Amrit Udyan, and the Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum have now implemented all 50 recommendations put forward by the Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay National Institute for Persons with Physical Disabilities, ensuring better accessibility for persons with disabilities.

To promote linguistic inclusivity and reach a wider audience, the official websites of Rashtrapati Bhavanrashtrapatibhavan.gov.in and presidentofindia.gov.in — are now available in 22 Indian languages, a major push toward digital accessibility and cultural representation.

Several other facilities were also inaugurated across Presidential Estates:

  • Visitor Facilitation Centre at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi
  • Nilayam Nikunj at Rashtrapati Nilayam, Hyderabad
  • Cafeteria, Souvenir Shop, and Reception at Rashtrapati Niwas, Mashobra
  • A renovated gym for residents at the President’s Estate

Additionally, Season 2 of the ‘E-Upahaar’ auction was launched, featuring over 250 gifts received by the President. Proceeds from the auction will go toward initiatives supporting children’s welfare. The auction can be accessed at upahaar.rashtrapatibhavan.gov.in.

An e-book capturing the highlights of the Presidency’s activities over the past year was also released and can be viewed here.

As part of its commitment to environmental responsibility, Rashtrapati Bhavan has commenced initiatives to achieve Net Zero status by March 2027, reflecting a vision of sustainability and responsible governance.

Speaking on the occasion, President Murmu expressed satisfaction over the increased citizen engagement with Rashtrapati Bhavan over the past three years. “It is always our endeavour to effectively connect all sections of society, especially the underprivileged and backward classes, with the country’s development journey,” she said, adding that the new initiatives would further strengthen the bond between the people and the nation’s highest office.
