Odisha Vigilance Arrests ITDA Official on Graft Charges

The Odisha Vigilance Department on Friday arrested a senior official of the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) in Mayurbhanj district for allegedly possessing disproportionate assets.
The accused, who served as a project administrator at ITDA in Bonai, was found with wealth beyond his known sources of income, leading to his arrest.
A case has been registered against the official and his wife at the Rourkela Vigilance Police Station under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, the vigilance department said in a statement.
The arrest comes as part of the state’s intensified crackdown on corruption in government offices. The vigilance team reportedly conducted multiple raids before gathering sufficient evidence to charge the accused.
Officials confirmed that further investigations are underway to trace additional assets linked to the accused and uncover any wider network of corruption.
The Odisha government has reiterated its commitment to ensuring transparency and accountability in public administration, with the vigilance department playing a key role in tackling graft.
