Odisha to train tribal girls as pilots

Odisha to Launch Pilot Training Programme for Tribal Girls: CM Majhi
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday announced that the state government will soon launch a cadet pilot programme to provide training to tribal girls aspiring to become pilots.
Speaking at the Eastern Region Ministers’ Conference for Civil Aviation here, Majhi said the initiative would be rolled out under the state’s flagship scheme B-MAAN (Building and Management of Aviation Assets and Network).
The Chief Minister noted that the programme aims to empower tribal youth, particularly girls, by opening up career opportunities in the aviation sector while also helping Odisha build a skilled workforce in the fast-growing industry.
Officials said the scheme is expected to create new avenues for inclusive growth and boost representation of tribal communities in professional fields where their presence has traditionally been limited.
