Odisha seeks TSU satellite unit in Gopalpur

Odisha Seeks Satellite Unit of TSU in Gopalpur: CM Majhi
The Odisha government has urged the Centre to establish a satellite unit of the National Tribhuvan Sahkari University (TSU) at Gopalpur in Ganjam district, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said on Monday.
The request was placed to expand access to cooperative education and research in eastern India. Currently, TSU, the country’s first national-level cooperative institute, functions from Gujarat, offering specialised programmes in management, finance, law and rural development.
Majhi said setting up a satellite campus in Odisha would not only benefit local students but also strengthen the cooperative movement in the region by creating a skilled workforce for the sector.
Officials added that Gopalpur, with its strategic location and growing infrastructure, is well-suited to host such an institute, which could serve as a hub for cooperative studies in eastern and northeastern states.
