Odisha approves new IT, electronics policies

Odisha Cabinet Approves New IT, Electronics Component Manufacturing Policies
In a bid to boost investment and strengthen the state’s technology ecosystem, the Odisha government on Monday approved two key policies — the Electronics Component Manufacturing Policy and the IT Policy.
The decision was taken at a state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja said the Electronics Component Manufacturing Policy is designed to create high-skilled employment opportunities while also reducing India’s dependence on imported electronic components. The IT Policy, he added, aims to promote Odisha as a hub for information technology, encourage innovation, and attract major industry players to set up operations in the state.
Officials said both policies are expected to generate significant job opportunities, foster entrepreneurship, and enhance Odisha’s competitiveness in the rapidly growing digital and electronics sectors.
