Odisha to Formulate New Policy to Promote State as Wedding Destination: Deputy CM Parida

The Odisha government is set to introduce a new policy aimed at positioning the state as a prime wedding destination in India, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida announced on Saturday.

Speaking at a press conference, Parida, who also heads the Tourism Department, highlighted Odisha’s diverse landscapes, including pristine beaches, majestic hills, ancient temples, and a scenic coastline, making it an ideal location for destination weddings.

“The state has immense potential to attract couples looking for unique and picturesque wedding venues. Our government is making efforts to develop and promote these sites, which will not only boost the tourism sector but also contribute to the local economy,” she said.

The policy is expected to focus on infrastructure development, ease of permissions, and marketing strategies to attract domestic and international wedding planners.

With this initiative, Odisha aims to join the league of popular wedding destinations like Rajasthan, Goa, and Kerala, further enhancing its tourism industry.
