Odisha Targets 1 Crore Jobs 2047

Odisha Sets Ambitious Goal of Creating Over 1 Crore Jobs by 2047: CM Majhi

In a visionary move aimed at shaping Odisha’s future, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday announced the state government’s plan to generate over 1.1 crore employment opportunities by the year 2047, coinciding with India’s centenary of Independence.

Speaking at the national seminar titled ‘Good Governance and Developed Odisha – 2036 & 2047’, Majhi underlined his government’s commitment to transforming Odisha into a prosperous and fully developed state by 2036, when it will mark 100 years since its formation.

“This is not just a vision for Odisha, but a contribution toward the broader national goal of making India a developed country by 2047,” the Chief Minister stated.

He emphasized that the roadmap to development would focus on sustainable economic growth, infrastructure expansion, youth empowerment, and investments in key sectors such as industry, agriculture, tourism, and technology.

The seminar brought together policymakers, experts, and thought leaders to deliberate on strategies for good governance and long-term development. Majhi highlighted that the massive job creation goal would be achieved through robust policy reforms, skilling programs, and entrepreneurship promotion tailored to Odisha’s strengths and resources.

The event is part of a larger dialogue initiated by the state government to align Odisha’s growth trajectory with India’s centennial development goals.
