Odisha Revenue Employees Call Off Strike, Resume Work

The Odisha District Revenue Ministerial Employees Association, which had been on a cease work agitation since August 11 demanding fulfillment of their 10-point charter, called off their protest on Tuesday.

The association cited the prevailing flood situation in several districts and the approaching festive season as key reasons behind their decision to resume duties.

Announcing the move, association president Tirupati Balaji Sahu said, “In view of the prevailing flood situation in some districts and the upcoming festive season, for the greater interest of the people, we have decided to call off our protest and join duty today.”

A senior office-bearer added that their meeting with Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja on Monday evening was “successful,” giving assurance of constructive steps to address the employees’ concerns.

The withdrawal of the strike is expected to provide major relief to the state administration, particularly as revenue officials play a crucial role in coordinating flood relief, rehabilitation, and preparations for upcoming festivals.
