The Odisha government has announced a preparatory pilot training program for 50 tribal students, with a special focus on women, to equip them for professional aviation courses, an official said on Sunday.

The Commerce and Transport Department has issued a tender to hire a professional agency for conducting the training. As per the tender document, the selected agency will first identify at least 300 tribal students, out of whom 50 will be shortlisted through a rigorous screening process.

This initiative aims to provide aspiring tribal youth with the necessary foundation to pursue careers in aviation. The move is seen as a significant step towards empowering tribal communities and promoting inclusivity in the aviation sector.
