Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi Issues Stern Warning to Officials Against Corruption
In a bold statement against corrupt practices, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi issued a stern warning to officials, urging them to uphold integrity and honesty in their roles. This announcement came during the inauguration of the Vigilance Awareness Week on Monday, marking the start of the annual campaign that runs until November 3 to promote transparency and accountability in governance.
Addressing a gathering of state officials, CM Majhi criticized the alleged corruption under the former BJD government. He highlighted that corrupt practices were widespread under the previous administration’s 5T initiative, which was intended to bring transformative governance.
“Corruption was rampant under the previous BJD government in the name of 5T, and all officials who were involved in dishonest practices will be held accountable by the BJP government,” Majhi affirmed in his address.
The CM emphasized that the BJP government will adopt a zero-tolerance approach toward any malpractice and reiterated the commitment to fostering a transparent administrative environment. The Vigilance Awareness Week, he added, will serve as a timely reminder for public officials to adhere to ethical standards and work diligently for the welfare of the people of Odisha.
Majhi’s strong message comes as part of his administration’s broader efforts to reform governance and strengthen public trust in state institutions. The event concluded with a pledge from officials to uphold integrity and serve with dedication, echoing the CM’s call for a corruption-free Odisha.
