PM Modi Inaugurates and Lays Foundation Stones for Major Health Projects in Odisha

In a move to bolster healthcare infrastructure in Odisha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for three significant health projects on Tuesday. These initiatives are expected to enhance healthcare services, expand research capacities, and provide better medical facilities across the state.

Among the inaugurated projects is the Central Drugs Testing Laboratory (CDTL) at Gothapatna in Bhubaneswar. This facility will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of drugs by conducting thorough testing and analysis, strengthening the pharmaceutical sector’s regulatory framework in eastern India. The CDTL aims to accelerate drug testing processes, which will contribute to higher standards of patient care.

Additionally, PM Modi inaugurated a 50-bed critical care block at the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in Bargarh, addressing the need for specialized care in the region. Equipped with advanced medical facilities, this block will provide critical healthcare services to patients requiring intensive treatment, ensuring improved response times and outcomes for serious medical conditions.

The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for the Central Research Institute in Yoga and Naturopathy at Jatni, on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar. The institute will serve as a national hub for research in yoga and naturopathy, aimed at promoting holistic healthcare through traditional practices. Once operational, the institute is expected to attract researchers and practitioners, advancing alternative medicine and wellness education in India.

Addressing the virtual gathering, PM Modi highlighted the government’s commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure across the country. He emphasized the importance of creating robust facilities for drug testing, critical care, and alternative medicine, which are key to ensuring a healthier population and sustainable development.

These projects mark a significant step forward for Odisha’s healthcare sector, aligning with the government’s vision of making quality healthcare accessible to all citizens.
