Ayodhya’s Ram Temple Set for First Diwali with Record 28 Lakh Diyas

Ayodhya is preparing for a historic Diwali celebration this year, marking the first festival at the newly built Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple. The Uttar Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has announced plans for its eighth annual Deepotsav, with an ambitious goal of lighting 28 lakh diyas along the Saryu river—a move that may set a new world record.

The government is also prioritizing environmental care, using specially crafted eco-friendly lamps that will light the Ram temple itself. These lamps are designed to minimize soot and stains, ensuring the temple remains pristine throughout the celebration.

With grandeur and eco-conscious practices, this year’s Deepotsav promises to be a remarkable event, blending tradition with environmental awareness.
