NCERT, IIT-Madras Partner to Boost EdTech

NCERT, IIT-Madras ink MoU to boost educational research and technology integration
The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT-Madras) to advance research and innovation in education through cutting-edge technology.

Officials said the collaboration aims to promote technological innovation, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML) applications in education to enhance access, inclusivity, and quality across the learning ecosystem.

“This collaborative effort is crucial for realising the vision and goals of the National Education Policy (NEP) and the **National Curriculum Framework (NCF),” said School Education Secretary Sanjay Kumar. “All the books need to be digital and made available in 22 scheduled languages to support education in children’s mother tongue,” he added.

Under the MoU, NCERT and IIT-Madras will jointly work on developing digital learning resources, AI-driven assessment tools, and teacher training modules to strengthen India’s digital education infrastructure.

The partnership also aims to make educational content more inclusive and adaptive, ensuring equal opportunities for learners across regions and linguistic backgrounds.

The collaboration marks another step toward aligning India’s education system with the NEP’s vision of technology-enabled, multilingual, and learner-centric education.
