Air India CEO Calls Crash Devastating

Air India CEO: Plane crash was devastating, airline supporting affected families
Air India CEO Campbell Wilson on Wednesday described the June plane crash as a “devastating tragedy” for passengers, their families, and airline staff, assuring that the carrier is doing everything possible to support those affected.

Speaking at a conference in New Delhi, Wilson said the incident had deeply impacted everyone at Air India and reiterated the company’s commitment to assist victims’ families and others impacted by the accident.

“The crash was devastating for people, families, and the staff involved. We have been doing everything to support those affected and to ease their journey forward,” Wilson said.

The CEO also shared that the interim probe report into the crash found no technical fault with the aircraft, its engines, or the airline’s operational procedures.

“We, like everyone else, await the final report. If there’s anything to learn from it, we will,” he added.

This was Wilson’s first public appearance in India since the tragic crash, which occurred in June and led to significant loss of life. He emphasised that Air India remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational excellence.
