A 30-year-old man was arrested in Jajpur district for allegedly creating multiple fake social media accounts to post morphed obscene photos and derogatory remarks about a woman, police said on Wednesday.

The accused, identified as Santosh Kumar Sahoo of Narasinghpur village, reportedly targeted a 25-year-old woman from Dharmasala area after she ended their relationship.

According to police, Sahoo created the fake profiles to seek revenge, uploading manipulated images and offensive comments. The victim lodged a complaint after discovering the content on social media.

“Sahoo was arrested following a detailed investigation. He has been charged under relevant sections of the IT Act and IPC,” said a senior police officer.

The incident has raised concerns about online harassment and the misuse of social media platforms. Authorities have urged the public to report such crimes immediately to ensure swift action.
