Kynan Chenai and Sabeera Haris Secure Bronze at ISSF Shotgun World Cup
Nicosia, Cyprus – May 11, 2025 – Indian shooters Kynan Chenai and Sabeera Haris clinched the bronze medal in the Trap Mixed Team event at the ISSF Shotgun World Cup in Nicosia, Cyprus. The duo narrowly defeated Turkey’s Tolga Tuncer and Pelin Kaya 34–33 in a closely contested bronze medal match. Their performance marked India’s first medal at the 2025 Shotgun World Cup season .
Earlier in the qualification round, Chenai and Haris finished fourth among 34 teams with a combined score of 142 out of 150. Chenai contributed 70 points (23, 25, 22), while Haris added 72 points (23, 25, 24) . This strong qualification performance propelled them into the medal match, where their consistent shooting secured the bronze.
The gold medal in the Trap Mixed Team event was claimed by China, who overcame Poland 42–39 in the final. The Neutral Athletes topped the overall medal standings with two golds, while China secured second place with one gold and one silver .
This achievement underscores the growing prowess of Indian shooters on the international stage and sets a positive tone for upcoming competitions.
