India Post to Launch 24-hr, 48-hr Guaranteed Delivery Services from January

Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Friday announced that India Post will soon introduce guarantee-based mail and parcel delivery services with 24-hour and 48-hour timelines, starting January next year.

Speaking about the upcoming initiative, Scindia said the new service will mark a major transformation in India Post’s operations, enhancing reliability and efficiency in postal logistics.

“We are going to launch new products with guaranteed delivery of mails and parcels. There will be a 24-hour Speed Post service ensuring delivery within a day, and a 48-hour Speed Post service for delivery within two days,” the minister said.

The move is part of the Centre’s efforts to modernise India Post and bring its services on par with leading private courier companies, while maintaining affordability and nationwide reach.

The guaranteed delivery initiative is expected to benefit individuals and businesses alike, particularly in e-commerce, logistics, and government communications sectors.
