Global Chess League: Alaskan Knights Remain Unbeaten; Ganges Breaks Losing Streak

In a thrilling day three of the Tech Mahindra Global Chess League, PBS Alaskan Knights continued their unbeaten streak, while the Ganges Grandmasters finally secured their first win of the tournament.

The PBS Alaskan Knights showcased their dominance with a commanding 12-3 victory over the Ganges Grandmasters, solidifying their position at the top of the standings. With this win, the Knights have maintained a perfect record, winning all four of their matches and earning a total of 12 match points along with 49 game points.

The defending champions, Triveni Continental Kings, had a mixed day, playing two matches. They kicked off the day with a decisive 15-3 win against American Gambits, highlighted by Alireza Firouzja’s stunning victory over world number two Hikaru Nakamura. However, the Kings faced a setback in their second match, narrowly losing to the Ganges Grandmasters, who celebrated their first victory of the league.

The tournament continues to heat up as teams vie for position, with the Alaskan Knights looking to maintain their unbeaten run and the Ganges Grandmasters seeking to build on their newfound momentum.
