Odisha Government Recruits Over 16,000 Junior Teachers in a Single Day

In a major recruitment drive, the Odisha government appointed 16,009 junior teachers for primary and upper primary schools across the state on Saturday. The recruitment was carried out under various educational schemes aimed at strengthening the state’s education system.
Chief Minister Mohan Majhi distributed some of the appointment letters during a special ceremony at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, in the presence of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The event marked a significant step in addressing the state’s growing need for quality teachers in the foundational levels of education.
The newly recruited teachers have been posted in schools across all 30 districts of Odisha, boosting the efforts to improve educational outcomes and bridge the teacher-student ratio gap. The recruitment drive is expected to bring a positive impact on the quality of education in the state, especially in rural and remote areas.
This large-scale appointment reflects the government’s commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure and ensuring better access to education for children across Odisha.
