DESW Launches Special Campaign 4.0 to Tackle Pending Matters and Promote Cleanliness
The Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare (DESW), under the Ministry of Defence, has officially launched the ‘Special Campaign for Disposal of Pending Matters 4.0’ (SCDPM 4.0). This initiative, running from October 2 to October 31, 2024, is designed to address pending issues and promote cleanliness across various government offices nationwide.
The campaign will focus on key offices with significant public interaction, including Zila Sainik Boards, Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) Polyclinics, and Zonal Resettlement Offices. Over 250 files have been identified for review as part of an extensive effort to streamline record management and eliminate outdated documents.
Additionally, Ex-Servicemen Associations are actively participating in cleanliness drives, leading efforts like Swachhata rallies, reducing single-use plastics, and cleaning village common areas. Individuals making noteworthy contributions to the campaign will be recognized and honored.
The preparatory phase kicked off on September 17, 2024, with Dr. Niten Chandra, Secretary of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, administering the ‘Swachhata Pledge’ to departmental heads. He emphasized the importance of minimizing single-use plastic and promoting waste segregation both at work and within communities.
The Special Campaign 4.0 aims to institutionalize cleanliness as a daily habit within the DESW, while improving transparency, enhancing efficiency, and reducing pendency in the department’s operations.
