Bollywood Mourns Veteran Actor Kamini Kaushal, Passes Away at 98
Bollywood celebrities, including Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kiara Advani, mourned the death of legendary actor Kamini Kaushal, one of Hindi cinema’s earliest and most influential female stars. Kaushal passed away at her Mumbai residence on Thursday night at the age of 98.
A pioneering figure in Indian cinema, Kaushal made her debut with the acclaimed 1946 film “Neecha Nagar.” She quickly rose to become one of the highest-paid actresses of the late 1940s and early 1950s, headlining several iconic films of the era.
Over her illustrious career, she starred opposite stalwarts such as Dilip Kumar, Dev Anand and Raj Kapoor, before transitioning to significant character roles from the 1960s onwards.
Actors from across generations paid tribute to her enduring legacy, remembering her as a trailblazer whose work “left an unforgettable mark” on the Hindi film industry.
