BFI Postpones Elections After Court Order

BFI Postpones Elections Following Court Orders on Electoral College
The Boxing Federation of India (BFI) has postponed its elections originally scheduled for March 28, citing the inability to complete the process within the planned timeline. The decision comes after directives from the Delhi and Himachal Pradesh High Courts, ordering the reinstatement of names omitted from the electoral college.
In an official notification to its member units, the BFI stated, “The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Boxing Federation of India (BFI), which was scheduled to be held on 28.03.2025, stands postponed.”
The elections, meant to appoint new office bearers, have been affected by a March 21 order from Returning Officer Justice (Retd) RK Gauba, necessitating the delay.
The postponement marks another chapter in the ongoing administrative challenges faced by the federation. A revised election date is expected to be announced soon.
