13 Clubs Confirm for Truncated ISL Season; AIFF Awaits Odisha FC’s Decision
Thirteen Indian Super League (ISL) clubs have confirmed their participation in the delayed and truncated 2025–26 season, while the All India Football Federation (AIFF) is awaiting a final decision from Odisha FC, sources said on Tuesday.
The ISL, which had been put on hold due to the absence of a commercial partner, is now scheduled to kick off on February 14. Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya earlier announced that the league would go ahead with all 14 clubs taking part in the upcoming season.
However, it is learnt that Odisha FC has sought additional time to confirm its participation. According to sources, the Bhubaneswar-based club has requested time until Thursday to communicate its final stand to the federation.
“Thirteen clubs have confirmed their participation, while Odisha FC have asked for time till tomorrow. The AIFF is hopeful that Odisha FC will also come on board by Thursday,” a source privy to the development told PTI on the condition of anonymity.
The AIFF remains optimistic that Odisha FC’s inclusion will ensure full participation and lend stability to the league, which has faced uncertainty in recent months due to financial constraints and the delay in finalising a commercial partner. A confirmation from Odisha FC would allow organisers to finalise the competition structure and match schedule for the upcoming season.
