In a shocking incident, three people, including two women, were tied to a tree and beaten by a mob in Gobardhanpur village, Balasore district, over allegations of attempting to convert tribal families to another religion.

The incident occurred on Thursday and came to light after a video went viral on social media. Subash Chandra Mallick, officer-in-charge of the Remuna police station, stated that the police acted swiftly, rescuing the individuals and preventing further violence.

An investigation into the allegations and the mob’s actions is underway, with authorities urging restraint and maintaining peace in the region.
