Tesla launches Model YL expands India network

Tesla Launches Model YL, Expands India Network

Tesla on Wednesday accelerated its India expansion with the launch of its second model, the three-row, six-seater SUV Model YL, priced at Rs 61.99 lakh.

The introduction of the Model YL follows the company’s India debut last year with the Model Y, marking a steady push into the country’s growing electric vehicle market. With added seating capacity and premium features, the new offering is aimed at families and buyers seeking a larger electric SUV.

Alongside the product expansion, Tesla announced plans to significantly strengthen its infrastructure in India. The company will scale up its service and body shop network and expand its presence in key cities, including Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai and Ahmedabad.

Tesla is also ramping up its charging network across highways connecting major urban centres, aiming to ease range anxiety and support long-distance travel for EV users.

Speaking at the launch, Tesla India General Manager Sharad Agarwal said the company is focused on expanding its footprint and customer support ecosystem in the coming quarter, reinforcing its long-term commitment to the Indian market.
