Women voters propel NDA win in Bihar

Women Voters in Bihar Backed NDA for Good Governance: BJP

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday said that women voters played a decisive role in the Bihar Assembly elections, backing the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for its record of development and good governance.

Calling it a “historic transformation” in electoral participation, the BJP said the strong turnout of women reflected growing faith in the leadership and welfare measures initiated under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“Since 2014, under PM Narendra Modi, pro-incumbency for good governance has become a new habit in Indian democracy — a trend unseen before,” the party said in a statement.

According to provisional data released by the Election Commission on Tuesday, Bihar recorded an overall voter turnout of 66.91 per cent, the highest since the first state elections in 1951.

Party leaders credited this surge to increased participation of women voters, citing schemes focused on women’s empowerment, rural infrastructure, and social welfare as key drivers behind their support for the NDA.

The BJP said the mandate from women reaffirmed their trust in the government’s inclusive policies and its commitment to improving livelihoods and safety for women across Bihar.
