Vote counting begins in Nuapada bypoll

Vote Counting Begins for Nuapada Assembly Bypoll in Odisha

Counting of votes for the Nuapada assembly bypoll in Odisha began at 8 am on Friday amid a three-tier security arrangement, an election official said.

District Election Officer (DEO)-cum-Nuapada Collector Madhusudan Dash informed that the process started with the counting of postal ballots. The counting of votes recorded in Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) commenced at 8.30 am across 14 counting tables.

Authorities said adequate security measures have been put in place to ensure a smooth and transparent counting process. The bypoll was necessitated due to a vacancy in the constituency, and the result will determine the next representative of the Nuapada assembly seat.

More details are awaited as counting progresses.
