Varun Dhawan rom-com postponed to June

Varun Dhawan’s next rom-com ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ postponed to June 2026
New Delhi, Oct 31 : Fans of Bollywood star Varun Dhawan will have to wait a little longer to catch his next big-screen outing, as the release of his upcoming romantic comedy Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai has been pushed back to June 5, 2026.
Initially slated to release on April 10, 2026, the film — directed by veteran filmmaker David Dhawan — promises to be a full-fledged entertainer packed with humor, romance, and chaos. The makers officially announced the new release date on Instagram on Friday, unveiling a vibrant new poster with the caption, “Drama bhi hona hai, comedy bhi, kyunki jab ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ in cinemas on 5th June 2026.”
The film stars Varun Dhawan alongside Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde in lead roles. Produced by Ramesh Taurani, the movie marks another collaboration between the father-son duo David and Varun Dhawan, known for delivering hit comedies like Main Tera Hero and Judwaa 2.
Adding to the film’s ensemble are Maniesh Paul, Jimmy Shergill, Mouni Roy, Chunkey Panday, Rakesh Bedi, and Ali Asgar in key roles, ensuring plenty of laughter and entertainment for audiences.
Interestingly, the film’s title draws inspiration from the hit track “Ishq Sona Hai” from David Dhawan’s 1999 classic Biwi No. 1, starring Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor, and Sushmita Sen.
Varun Dhawan was last seen in the romantic comedy Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari opposite Janhvi Kapoor, which released earlier this month to a positive response. With Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, the actor is set to return to his signature comic flair and charm — albeit a few months later than expected.
