Bhubaneswar, Oct 31 : Union Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting, and Electronics & Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw will arrive in Bhubaneswar on Friday for a series of significant official engagements aimed at boosting Odisha’s infrastructure and technological ecosystem.

During his visit, Vaishnaw will attend the Ground-Breaking Ceremony of the SiCSem Semiconductor Fabrication Unit at Info Valley, a milestone initiative that marks a major stride in India’s efforts to strengthen its semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem under the “Make in India” and “Digital India” missions.

The SiCSem project is expected to play a transformative role in advancing India’s electronics and chip manufacturing capabilities, creating high-skilled employment opportunities, and attracting global investments to the state.

As part of his schedule, the Union Minister will also witness the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Railways and the Government of Odisha at the State Secretariat. The MoU aims to enhance railway infrastructure, improve statewide connectivity, and facilitate faster, safer, and more efficient transportation networks.

Later in the day, Vaishnaw is scheduled to visit the Bhubaneswar Railway Station to review the ongoing redevelopment and modernization works being carried out under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. The project envisions turning the station into a world-class passenger facility equipped with modern amenities, improved accessibility, and enhanced safety features.
