Union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy met Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Sunday to discuss the future of the mining sector and its growth opportunities with key stakeholders.

The minister held an interactive session with representatives from public and private sector companies, industry bodies, and experts associated with the coal and mining industries. The meeting, organized at NALCO Bhawan, focused on fostering collaboration and addressing challenges in the mining sector to ensure sustainable development.

National Aluminium Company Ltd (NALCO) stated that the discussion aimed at strengthening the state’s mining operations, enhancing resource utilization, and boosting economic growth. Mines Secretary V L Kantha Rao, along with senior officials from the coal and mines ministries, was also present at the meeting.

The interaction emphasized Odisha’s significant contribution to India’s mining sector and explored strategies to drive technological advancements and environmental sustainability in mining practices.
