Tom Latham Says India Will Bounce Back After Test Series Loss
Despite leading New Zealand to a historic 3-0 Test series clean sweep against India, captain Tom Latham expressed confidence in India’s ability to bounce back, praising the side’s “quality” and potential for a strong comeback.
Latham’s team made history by becoming the first visiting side to whitewash India in a three-match home Test series, winning the matches in Bengaluru, Pune, and Mumbai.
“Indian cricket in general is really special. We’ve played against them a lot. The guys play with them at the IPL. They were certainly gracious in defeat and they’re still a quality side,” Latham said after returning to New Zealand from India.
Latham acknowledged that while India had faced a tough series, the team remains one of the best in world cricket and expressed belief that they would soon turn things around. His comments reflect mutual respect between the two cricketing nations, with Latham emphasizing the strength and resilience of India’s team.
India’s loss in the series has sparked discussions on their performance, but Latham’s statement serves as a reminder that the team is capable of bouncing back, despite the setback.
