Study Finds Singles May Have Lower Life Satisfaction

A recent study has revealed that individuals who have been single their entire lives may experience lower life satisfaction compared to those who have been in previous long-term relationships.

Conducted by researchers at the University of Bremen, Germany, the study surveyed over 77,000 people aged 50 and above across 27 European countries. It is the first research of its kind to explore the experiences of lifelong singles across different cultures.

The findings suggest that lifelong singles tend to exhibit lower levels of extraversion, conscientiousness, and openness to new experiences. These personality traits, along with reduced life satisfaction, were notably lower compared to those who are currently single but have previously been married or lived with a partner.
