Lakshya Sen Loses in Semifinals of King Cup International

India’s Lakshya Sen bowed out in the semifinals of the inaugural King Cup International Badminton Open after suffering a straight-game defeat to reigning world junior champion Hu Zhe’an of China.

The 23-year-old from Almora fought hard but was unable to overcome Hu’s relentless play, losing 19-21, 19-21 in a closely contested match. The match saw both players locked in a tight battle, with little separating them throughout. Hu managed to secure the opening game after Lakshya’s backhand went into the net, gaining a one-point lead at the break. The 18-year-old Hu continued to press and closed the match in straight games, showcasing his skill and composure under pressure.
