Saatvik Solar Begins Work on Odisha Facility

Saatvik Solar Breaks Ground on 4.80 GW Integrated Solar Manufacturing Facility in Odisha

In a significant boost to India’s green energy ambitions, Saatvik Solar Industries Private Limited (SSIPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Saatvik Green Energy Limited (SGEL), held the groundbreaking ceremony today for its upcoming state-of-the-art solar manufacturing facility at Gopalpur Industrial Park in Odisha’s Ganjam district.

Spanning 57 acres of land sub-leased from Tata Steel Special Economic Zone Limited (TSSEZL), the facility is set to house a 4.80 GW solar cell and 4.00 GW module manufacturing unit. The project is strategically located along National Highway-16 at Chama Khandi and marks a cornerstone in SGEL’s national expansion strategy.

“Our focus is on staying at the forefront of solar energy innovation and EPC solutions,” said Prashant Mathur, CEO of SGEL. “With this new integrated facility in Odisha, we are accelerating our capacity expansion to meet the rising domestic and international demand for high-quality solar modules.”

The Odisha facility is slated to be operational by the end of Fiscal 2027 for cell manufacturing and by Fiscal 2026 for module production. This project, combined with SGEL’s ongoing expansion of an additional 1.00 GW module capacity in Ambala, will raise the company’s total capacity to 4.80 GW for cell manufacturing and 8.80 GW for integrated module manufacturing across both locations.

Saatvik’s Odisha facility is expected to play a pivotal role in strengthening India’s solar value chain, creating high-value employment, and reinforcing the country’s position as a global hub for renewable energy manufacturing.

This development aligns with India’s broader climate goals, aiming to scale up solar energy adoption and achieve net zero emissions by 2070. The project is also expected to attract ancillary investments and bolster Odisha’s emergence as a key player in the nation’s green manufacturing landscape.
