Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh Performs Shastra Pooja at Sukna Military Station on Dussehra

On October 12, 2024, Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh performed the traditional Shastra Pooja at the Sukna Military Station, marking the auspicious occasion of Dussehra. This significant ceremony symbolizes the respect for weapons, which serve as protectors of India’s sovereignty.
Initiating the rituals with Kalash Pooja, Shri Rajnath Singh proceeded with the Shastra Pooja and Vahan Pooja, offering prayers for a range of modern military equipment, including advanced infantry and artillery systems, communication tools, mobility platforms, and drones. The event concluded with a meaningful interaction between the Raksha Mantri and the troops.
In his address, Shri Rajnath Singh praised the vigilance and critical role of the Armed Forces in maintaining peace and stability along India’s borders. He emphasized that Dussehra represents the victory of good over evil and highlighted the soldiers’ commitment to upholding human values.
“India has never attacked any country out of hatred or contempt. We only respond when our integrity and sovereignty are threatened. The Shastra Pooja signifies that our weapons and equipment will be utilized with full force if necessary,” the Raksha Mantri stated.
The rituals, performed to seek blessings for strength, success, and safety, underscore the cultural and spiritual significance of Dussehra while reaffirming the Indian Armed Forces’ preparedness and dedication to protecting the nation. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, Defence Secretary-designate Shri RK Singh, and other senior military officials.
