Pujara Highlights India’s Bowling Challenges in Australia

Indian batter Cheteshwar Pujara has expressed concerns over the team’s ability to consistently take 20 wickets in a Test match, calling it the side’s biggest challenge ahead of the remaining matches in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Speaking on Monday, Pujara pointed out that the Indian bowling attack, apart from pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, has struggled to deliver breakthroughs. “The ability to take 20 wickets is not that good in the Indian team,” he remarked, underscoring the importance of bowling partnerships in turning games around.
India’s reliance on Bumrah, who has excelled with both the red and pink ball, has exposed the lack of consistent support from the other end. This issue, coupled with the top-order’s inconsistent performances, has been a significant hurdle for the visitors.
With the series tied 1-1 and two Tests remaining in Melbourne and Sydney, Pujara stressed the need for an all-round bowling effort to gain an upper hand. “It’s crucial we step up in all departments,” he added.
The Border-Gavaskar Trophy, a five-match series, remains evenly poised, with both sides battling for supremacy in what promises to be a thrilling conclusion.
