Indians Discontent with Practice Pitches Ahead of Fourth Test

The Indian cricket team has voiced their discontent regarding the practice pitches at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) ahead of their fourth Test against Australia. Concerns arose after Rohit Sharma sustained swelling on his left knee during practice, attributed to the variable bounce of the used pitches.

Rohit was injured while facing throwdowns from support staff member Dayanand Garani, leading to his withdrawal from the nets on Sunday. The Indian team, prioritizing player safety, decided against practicing on Monday.

MCG curator Matt Page responded to the team’s grievances, stating that “standard protocol” was adhered to when preparing the tracks. He emphasized that the pitches had been maintained according to established guidelines. As the team prepares for a crucial match, the focus remains on ensuring player health and performance while addressing concerns over pitch conditions.
