Prithvi Shaw Joins Maharashtra for 2025-26

Prithvi Shaw Joins Maharashtra for 2025-26 Domestic Season

India batter and former Mumbai cricketer Prithvi Shaw has officially joined Maharashtra ahead of the 2025-26 domestic season, the state’s cricket governing body announced on Monday.

Shaw’s move comes after he formally requested a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) late last month. The MCA approved the request, clearing the way for the 24-year-old to represent a new state team.

Once considered one of Mumbai’s most promising young talents, Shaw’s career with the team had hit roadblocks due to fitness concerns and disciplinary issues. He was dropped from the red-ball squads and last played for Mumbai in the final of the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy against Madhya Pradesh.

Shaw’s switch to Maharashtra is being viewed as an effort to revive his domestic career and regain consistency in form and fitness. Maharashtra is expected to benefit from the addition of the aggressive top-order batter as they build a competitive side for the upcoming season.
