Prime Minister Narendra Modi Extends Greetings on Telugu Language Day
New Delhi: On the occasion of Telugu Language Day, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi extended his heartfelt greetings to the Telugu-speaking community and praised the efforts of those working to promote the language. In a message posted on X (formerly Twitter), the Prime Minister highlighted the significance of Telugu as a language that has left an indelible mark not only in India but across the world.
In his message, the Prime Minister wrote in Telugu:
“తెలుగు భాషా దినోత్సవ శుభాకాంక్షలు. ఇది నిజంగా చాలా గొప్ప భాష, భారతదేశంలోనే కాకుండా ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా తనదైన ముద్ర వేసింది. తెలుగును మరింత ప్రాచుర్యంలోకి తెచ్చేందుకు కృషి చేస్తున్న వారందరినీ అభినందిస్తున్నాను.”
(Translation: “Greetings on Telugu Language Day. It is indeed a great language, which has made its mark not only in India but also globally. I appreciate all those who are working towards bringing more prominence to Telugu.”)
Telugu Language Day, observed annually on August 29th, commemorates the birth anniversary of the renowned Telugu poet Gidugu Venkata Ramamurthy, who played a pivotal role in the revival and promotion of the Telugu language.
