DCM Shriram Shortlists Four Agri Startups for Water-Use Efficiency Challenge
In a significant development for agricultural innovation, DCM Shriram has announced the four startups selected for the final round of its AgWater Challenge. The competition, aimed at enhancing water-use efficiency and improving crop yields, will see EF Polymer, CultYvate, Industill, and Phyfarm competing for the top prize.
The finalists were chosen from a pool of applicants and will advance to the final stage of the challenge, which is set to commence next month. The winner of the AgWater Challenge will be revealed in February 2025 and will receive a substantial prize of Rs 2 crore.
The AgWater Challenge was initiated in June of last year by the DCM Shriram Foundation in partnership with The/Nudge Institute’s Centre for Social Innovation and the Office of the Principal Scientific Advisor. This collaborative effort underscores a commitment to fostering innovative solutions in water management for agriculture.
With the final round approaching, the selected startups are expected to showcase their cutting-edge technologies and strategies designed to address critical issues related to water usage in farming. The challenge represents a pivotal opportunity for these startups to demonstrate their potential impact on sustainable agriculture practices.
DCM Shriram’s AgWater Challenge not only aims to recognize and reward groundbreaking innovations but also seeks to drive advancements that could transform agricultural water management on a broader scale.
