President Droupadi Murmu Lays Foundation Stones for Key Development Projects in Odisha

Rairangpur, Odisha: President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, inaugurated several developmental initiatives in Rairangpur, Odisha, on Saturday, December 7, 2024. Among the key projects were the foundation stones for three new rail lines: Bangiriposi-Gorumahisani, Buramara-Chakulia, and Badampahar-Kendujhargarh. Additionally, the President launched projects for the Tribal Research and Development Centre, Dandbose Airport, and a 100-bed Sub-Divisional Hospital building in Rairangpur.

Speaking at the event, President Murmu, a proud daughter of the land, shared her emotional connection to her birthplace. “The love and affection of the people of this region keep drawing me back,” she said, emphasizing her unwavering commitment to her roots.

The President highlighted the transformative impact of these projects on the region. She expressed confidence that the new rail lines and airport would significantly enhance connectivity, boost commerce, and facilitate regional development. The upgraded hospital would strengthen healthcare services for the local population.

President Murmu also commended the efforts under the Purvodaya vision of the Government of India, noting how welfare initiatives are accelerating Odisha’s development across sectors like education, skill development, health, tourism, and transportation.

She particularly lauded the establishment of more than 100 Eklavya Model Residential Schools in Odisha, including 23 in the Mayurbhanj district. These schools aim to empower tribal children with quality education, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to society and the nation.

The event marked a significant step forward in improving infrastructure and uplifting communities in Odisha, reinforcing the government’s commitment to holistic development in the region.
