President Droupadi Murmu Extends Diwali Greetings to the Nation
On the eve of Diwali, President Droupadi Murmu conveyed her warm wishes to all Indians, both in the country and abroad, highlighting the festival’s spirit of joy, harmony, and renewal. In her message, the President emphasized Diwali as a celebration of victory—of knowledge over ignorance and of good over evil.
“Diwali is a festival of happiness and enthusiasm. This festival symbolises the victory of knowledge over ignorance and good over evil. Various communities in India and abroad celebrate this festival with great zeal. This festival also kindles hope for a brighter future,” she stated.
President Murmu encouraged citizens to use Diwali as a time to reflect on their values, urging them to adopt virtues of love, compassion, and social harmony. She also called for inclusivity, asking people to share their happiness with those in need and to honor India’s rich heritage through a pollution-free celebration.
“With faith in goodness, let us celebrate a pollution-free Diwali and pledge to build a healthy, prosperous, and responsible society,” the President said, highlighting the festival as a moment to unite in building a brighter and more sustainable future for all.
