PM to inaugurate legal aid conference

PM Modi to Inaugurate National Conference on Strengthening Legal Aid Delivery Mechanisms on November 8
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the National Conference on “Strengthening Legal Aid Delivery Mechanisms” on November 8 at around 5 PM at the Supreme Court of India.
The two-day conference, being organised by the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), aims to deliberate on key aspects of India’s legal aid system and explore ways to make justice more accessible and efficient for all citizens.
During the inaugural session, the Prime Minister will also launch the Community Mediation Training Module, developed by NALSA to enhance the capacity of legal aid providers and promote alternative dispute resolution mechanisms at the community level.
The conference will bring together legal luminaries, judges, policymakers, and representatives from legal services institutions across the country. Discussions will focus on strengthening the Legal Aid Defense Counsel System, improving the functioning of panel lawyers and para-legal volunteers, enhancing the efficiency of permanent Lok Adalats, and ensuring robust financial management of legal services institutions.
The event underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring access to justice for all, particularly for marginalized and vulnerable sections of society, in line with the vision of “Sabka Nyay, Sabka Vikas.”
