PM Modi Pays Tribute to Jawaharlal Nehru on Birth Anniversary

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday paid tributes to India’s first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, on his birth anniversary.

In a brief message posted on X, the Prime Minister wrote, “Tributes to former Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Ji on the occasion of his birth anniversary.”

Pandit Nehru, born on November 14, 1889, was a central figure in India’s freedom movement and the country’s first Prime Minister, serving from 1947 to 1964. His birth anniversary is observed nationwide as Children’s Day in recognition of his affection for children and his contribution to nation-building.

Leaders across the political spectrum and citizens across the country also remembered Nehru’s legacy with floral tributes and commemorative events.
