PM Modi Inaugurates Avaada Group’s ₹1,600-Crore Solar Project in Gujarat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated Avaada Group’s ₹1,600-crore solar project in Gujarat and laid the foundation stone for the company’s upcoming 100 MW plant in the state.

According to the Vineet Mittal-led group, the 280 MW project, developed under the Gujarat State Solar Policy, spans over 1,170 acres across Tavi and Varsani villages in Surendranagar district. It involves a total investment of ₹1,500 crore.

“The project was formally inaugurated by the Prime Minister, underscoring the government’s commitment to accelerating India’s clean energy transition and advancing the vision of an Aatmanirbhar Bharat,” the company said in a statement.

The new projects are expected to strengthen Gujarat’s renewable energy footprint while supporting India’s broader target of increasing the share of green energy in its power mix.
