Prime Minister Welcomes Launch of Google AI Hub in Visakhapatnam
Calls it a major boost to India’s AI and digital economy vision
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on Tuesday expressed delight at the launch of the Google AI Hub in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, calling it a transformative step towards building a Viksit Bharat and strengthening India’s leadership in emerging technologies.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister described the new hub as a “multi-faceted investment” that includes gigawatt-scale data center infrastructure, and said it will play a crucial role in democratizing access to technology and advancing India’s AI for All vision.
“Delighted by the launch of the Google AI Hub in the dynamic city of Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. This multi-faceted investment that includes gigawatt-scale data center infrastructure aligns with our vision to build a Viksit Bharat. It will be a powerful force in democratizing technology. It will also ensure AI for All, delivering cutting-edge tools to our citizens, boosting our digital economy and securing India’s place as a global technology leader!” the Prime Minister posted, tagging Google CEO Sundar Pichai.
The Google AI Hub is expected to serve as a major catalyst for India’s rapidly growing digital ecosystem, fostering innovation, skill development, and AI-driven entrepreneurship. It will support the government’s mission to make technology more accessible to all sections of society while creating new opportunities in data analytics, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence.
The launch of the AI Hub in Visakhapatnam also underscores India’s emergence as a global technology and innovation hub, in line with the government’s emphasis on Digital India, AI for All, and Make in India initiatives.
