Paramvir Cheema Takes Measured Steps

Taking one step at a time in films, says actor Paramvir Cheema

Actor Paramvir Cheema, who has steadily carved a niche for himself across OTT platforms and films, says his journey in the entertainment industry has been about patience and conscious choices, especially as an outsider.

Cheema, who rose to prominence with critically acclaimed performances in web series such as Chamak and Tabbar, said he deliberately focused on digital platforms before venturing into mainstream cinema. “As an outsider, it was important for me to build credibility and a body of work first. OTT gave me that space to experiment and grow as an actor,” he said.

After early appearances in television and web shows like Kaleerein, Jeet Ki Zid and Half CA, Cheema’s career gained momentum with Chamak. However, it was Vikramaditya Motwane’s Black Warrant that proved to be a turning point, earning him wider recognition for his nuanced performance.

The actor made his Hindi film debut with Aanand L Rai’s romance-drama Tere Ishq Mein, featuring Dhanush and Kriti Sanon in the lead. He was recently seen in Border 2, which has emerged as a major box office success.

Reflecting on his transition to films, Cheema said he prefers to take measured steps rather than rush into projects. “I want to grow organically. Whether it’s OTT or films, the focus is on good storytelling and roles that challenge me,” he added.

With a successful theatrical release behind him and strong acclaim for his digital work, Cheema says he remains selective and open to exploring diverse characters across mediums.
