Security Tightened in Balasore and Bhadrak Ahead of Ram Navami Celebrations

Balasore, April 5: Ahead of the Ram Navami celebrations, security has been significantly intensified in Odisha’s Balasore and Bhadrak districts to ensure peaceful observance of the festival, particularly during rallies and processions.

In Balasore, seventeen platoons of police along with paramilitary forces—including one company each from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), and Rapid Action Force (RAF)—have been deployed to maintain law and order.

Neighboring Bhadrak district has witnessed even tighter security measures with the deployment of 26 platoons of police and three companies of paramilitary forces. The personnel are stationed strategically and will work in coordination with officers posted at static locations across sensitive zones.

“Flag marches have been conducted along several sensitive routes to instill confidence among the public and deter any untoward incidents,” informed Dr. Satyajit Nayak, DIG, Eastern Range. Speaking to media on Saturday, he emphasized that surveillance has been intensified in both districts.

CCTV cameras have been installed along all major procession routes, and drone surveillance will be used to monitor crowd activities and detect any suspicious movement. Special attention is being paid to known troublemakers and anti-social elements, with strict action already initiated in several cases.

Authorities are also keeping a close watch on social media platforms to prevent the spread of misinformation and maintain communal harmony. Some websites have been blocked and monitoring of online activities continues round the clock.

To facilitate public assistance, 24×7 control rooms have been set up in both districts. Citizens are encouraged to report any issues or seek clarification directly from these centers instead of believing in unverified information.

Peace committee meetings have been held in multiple areas to foster community coordination. Additionally, arrangements have been made to deploy executive magistrates, provide medical aid, and ensure the availability of drinking water throughout the celebrations.

Officials have appealed to the public to participate in the religious events peacefully and responsibly, reinforcing the spirit of unity and festivity that Ram Navami signifies.
